Stefani was a successful, happily married scientist when her world fell apart. Her husband was killed in a car crash (one she blamed herself for) and her only son was left in a vegetative coma after the same accident. When the lab she was working for, in L.A. was burned down, she had no choice but to relocate to the Company's facility in Scottsdale Arizona.
Trying to move forward from her own personal hell was proving a problem for Stefani, but she was slowly making some progress when all hell again broke loose in her world. Stafani had a stalker and not just any run-of-the-mill stalker. This one was a seriously deranged serial killer who was obsessed with the beautiful molecular biologist. So the story develops.
I was particularly taken by the character of Stefani. Despite all the travails of her life, she strives to keep a positive attitude and to deal directly with the problems that confront her. She is a strong, independent, smart and of course a beautiful woman and it is easy to identify with her pain, but also admire her chutzpah.
This story was one I felt addicted to and kept turning the next page or reading the next chapter, even when I knew I should be doing something else.
It's a solid, four stars from this reviewer and an exciting thriller to recommend to thriller fans everywhere. Good job O. N. Stefan.
