Being one of the classics, the tale of the ugly duckling has entertained children all around the world for countless generations. The story is about a duckling that lives on a farm along with his siblings and mother. Strange looking with its gray feathers and large size, everyone thought him ugly. He was shunned and ostracized growing up until he ran away from home and lived alone in a swamp until spring came. Now fully grown, he approached the swans carefully, fully expecting to be rejected. Instead, he was welcomed with open wings. Upon seeing his reflection, he realized he is no longer the ugly duckling but a gorgeous and magnificent swan. He joins his new flock and flies off into the distance.

One time, after doing a good deed for some, a Greek god appeared before him and offered to grant him anything he wanted. Midas immediately wished to have the ability to turn anything he touched into pure gold. Tremendously excited, Midas went about touching everything and turning it gold. But when he sat down to eat, even his food turned to gold before we could take a bite out of it. Hearing his cries, his daughter went to Midas to console him only to be turned to gold to Midas' horror. He cried and begged for this curse to be lifted. Eventually, the god took pity and returned things to the way they were.
