Chris, describes himself as a nerd of the first order. He got his start begining in the genre, by reading comic books in the 1970's. His first embrace of literature was from the same source.
In the 1970's, having received a copy of the comic book of "The Island of Doctor Moreau", he was transfixed by its tales of adventure and the combination of science and fantasy. This lead him to read the novels by H.G. Wells, followed by many other classics. Additionally, Chris discovered epic fantasy, beginning with The Chronicles of Narnia by C.S. Lewis and moving through all of Tolkien, through to modern authors like Piers Anthony, Katherine Kurtz, J.K. Rowling and George R.R. Martin. He became enthralled with telling stories of real people in a fantastic context.
Chris published his first novel, "Age of Mystics: the Saga of Mystics Book One" in March of 2016. An avid reader, as well as a writer, he began writing for the Stage in 1986 with the One-Act play, "The Answer." He continued to write for many years for the stage and, eventually, the screen. He never saw commercial success in these ventures, but is still proud of the work he put forth and the entertainment he provided.
Chris lives in Colorado Springs with his wife since 1992. He has two children, Zachary and Maggie.

In a world of contemporary fantasy comes the first novel of a series unlike any you’ve ever read before. With Age of Mystics, Chris Walters has begun a genuine masterpiece, bringing the modern world into the world of mystical power and conflict. AGE OF MYSTICS: BOOK ONE
On the far side of the world, lights go out and technology starts failing on a massive scale. In a world so dependent on devices and computer chips, catastrophe is coming. By the time the outage hits Colorado Springs, half the world is in a technological vacuum. As cars litter the highways and roads, their motors no longer capable of producing power, Calvin Ward sets out for home from the restaurant meeting he had set up the day before. Joined by a growing group of friends and family, he seeks answers to what has happened in the world and how they will deal with it. In another part of town, Eric Fine gathers people to his side as well. But, Eric sees a different possibility; one with him in dominion over everyone else.
Without the basic technology that they have relied on, people search for answers and safety. Here a new power paradigm is realized. Amid tragedy and betrayal, victory and terror, allies and enemies, people begin to recognize mystical abilities are within their grasp. Such is the end of the Age of Technology, and the beginning of the Age of Mystics.
Its scope immense, its theme universal, Age of Mystics is one of those rare reading experiences that hook you from the start, won’t release you until the end, and leave you yearning for more.

It has been a year and half since the Event, and the Council tries to make its way amidst the increasing death and devastation of a world gone mad. As rumors build of a new power in the east, with the ability to take away the powers of others, the Council must ally themselves with old foes to defeat a growing menace. But will their efforts be futile?

Adam and Erica Cross lead a training outpost for healers, while the people of the Bluffs are beset with emotional turmoil and violent outbursts. Follow the characters from Age of Mystics as they return in Faith of Mystics, the ongoing saga of a post-apocalyptic world.

Kyle Ward has his hands full. As the new leader at Council Bluffs, a lot is expected of him. The war with the Faith is over and peace has brought prosperity, but grief over recent losses has not washed away. Before the Wards and Cravens can even deal with their grief, new threats arise.
The dead walk the earth. A small flu grows out of control. An old friend becomes a fierce enemy. Winged people appear in the sky over the eastern plains and wreak havoc. Maxine Craven has run off and will let no one near her. The dragon has found a lair, and terrifies the villagers nearby. How will the Council adjust to so many new problems?
