The Rio 2016 Olympic Games are upon us and I thought I'd share a few thoughts about how I feel about the games, this time around.

I always loved the "special" stories of determination and grit to make it to the Olympics. (I think here of athletes like Eddie Edwards (Eddie the Eagle) and Eric Moussambani (Eric the Eel). That's what makes the Olympics special for me and long may it continue.
I strongly believe that we will have some wonderful stories to come out of this Rio Olympics, that will warm our hearts and hopefully remind us that we truly are one world, one human race and we are all the same.
The decision of the IOC to include a refugee team in the Rio Olympics is an inspired move. The past few years have seen a massive upsurge in refugees, worldwide, but especially from the usual trouble spots of North Africa and the Middle East.

More power to the IOC and the international community for realising this and acting on it.

Till next time, have a wonderful, peace-filled day and cheer for your team!
