...and the winner is!
In the end, for me, it came down to three books that were very different, but ultimately touched deeply me in some way.
Gone, by Julie Elizabeth Powell stunned me with the author's evocative and beautiful imagination. I found myself caught up in her amazing world and I loved her descriptive use of language.
4 Years Trapped in my Mind Palace really did blow me away, with its concept and the empathy, sadness and joy the author was able to evoke from me as a reader.
The Du Lac Devil Book 2 was simply just a wonderful adventure that I loved. The combination of the historical setting and the mystical times of just after King Arthur and Camelot, combined with the author's wonderful story of family, love and loss, was tailor-made for this reader.
So, I ummmed and ahhhhed, for quite some time over this decision. Three very different books, but all books that left me changed and satisfied, as a reader. What more can one ask for?
Ultimately, I made my decision and I'm pleased and proud to announce that the winner of the 2017 Supreme Grunter Award for Excellence in Indie Writing and Publishing goes to...
the du lac devil by mary anne yarde
I've made a great start to this year's reading list, with 25 books already under my belt since December 1st. I'm aiming for 175 books this year - will yours be one of them? I've already read some fantastic books that may well be contenders for the 2018 Awards, so it's all looking great.
Thank you to all the wonderful indie authors out there who make my passion for reading so much fun and so enjoyable. You are all awesome!!!!!
